Types of ID

A Florida notary public can establish a signer’s identity using the following forms of identification. Keep in mind these forms of identification must either be current or have been issued within the past 5 years.

  • An identification card or driver’s license issued by the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles

  • US Passport issued by the U.S Department of State

  • US Military ID

  • State, county and local government IDs

  • State-issued identification card

What is RON

Remote Online Notarizations (RON) is a remote notarization.  It is a safe and a virtual option to notarize your documents remotely.  RON is completed using electronic signatures, identity verification, and electronic seal.  So, rather than all parties meeting in person to sign documents, it can be done online, using your computer or laptop from the location of your choice.

Know what type of notarization you need, including but not limited to:

     ​          - Acknowledgment​

               - Jurats

               - Signature Witnessing

  • Make sure the document is complete​

  • Acceptable ID ready

  • Ensure your name on ID matches the name on your document

  • Know what you are signing and be willing to sign.
